FREQ. QUESTIONS

The Southwest Mississippi Genealogical Society was created in the year 2000, uniting those with the similar interest of researching their families' history.

Our Mission

To promote genealogical research in Southwest Mississippi;  to provide research materials and equipment for use by the membership;  to answer queries from researchers seeking information from this area; and provide for public access through the Pike-Amite-Walthall public library system headquartered in McComb, Mississippi.

The Society has been joined by seven (7) Southwest Mississippi Counties each eager to provide the public with pertinent information concerning their past and present residents.  These counties are:  Amite, Franklin, Lawrence, Lincoln, Pike, Walthall, and Wilkinson.  These counties will provide information concerning cemeteries, marriages, and deaths.

This Web Site is far from being complete. We need additional people to research, enter, proofread and correct records. This is a never ending process. But we will try to make the searches better and provide better ways for you to utilize the information we do have on line. Please give us your feedback, with suggestions and comments.
