How do I locate the Graves in a particular Cemetery?

After locating the Cemetery, as outlined in #1 above, go to Counties and then select the County where the Cemetery is located. Click on Pike County Burials by Cemetery. You are then given the option of entering all, or part, of the Cemetery Name, then enter all, or part, of the Surname. You must enter something in BOTH fields. The system will then search the database for records that contain all or part of the Cemetery Name and all or part of the Surname.

You can narrow your search by entering more of the Cemetery Name and/or more of the Surname.

What if I don't know the Cemetery?

Go to Counties and then select the County you wish to search. Click on Pike County Burials. You are then given the option of entering all or part of a Surname. The system then searches the entire database, without regard to the Cemetery, for Surnames meeting all or part of the entered criteria. If you only entered part of the Surname, you can enter more or all of the Surname, if known, and the system will then search using the newly entered criteria. All Surnames meeting the entered criteria will then be displayed.

What if I want to see all of the available fields for a selected record?

Go to Counties and then select the County you wish to search. Click on Full Record Search. You are then given the option of entering the Surname and the Given Name. Unless you know exactly who you are searching for, it's best to use one of the other searches to obtain this information. However, you can enter all or part of the Surname and all or part of the Given Name. After finding the burial you want, you will have to scroll horizontally to see all of the available fields.

When will all the Burials in all the Cemeteries in each County be available?

We won't know until the End Time. We are working hard to get all the Burials tabulated and entered. In Pike County we have most of the Burials entered up to 1978. Summit Woodlawn, Summit Jewish, Summit Confederate, Reeves and a few others are current through about 2002.Amite records are being entered now. Volunteers are needed in all 7 counties.

How can I volunteer?

You can call, or Email,  the Society President, the Society Secretary, or the Webmaster. Just go to the Feedback page and tell us what you would like to do. If you don't know, we'll give you the option of lots of things that need doing to make this the Great Web Site we wish it to be.

What about Counties other than Pike?

All the answers to the above questions will work with other counties. Just substitute the County name where you encounter Pike County.
